My reaction to a rude driver

How rude!!

One of my biggest pet peeves is rude people, especially when it’s uncalled for!

Ohhh, I was spitting mad this morning on my drive to work, because a person in a Honda Civic suddenly cut in front of me … without any warning!

Since I was just pulling up when the light jumped from red to green, I let it go. What other choice did I have except running into the back of the car? I did honk my horn and felt good about it because I usually remember to do that 5 minutes after the fact… Yeah, be assertive and let them know you are not happy with their action. (I probably cursed too, but don’t recall 🙂

Be the better person

We were turning into a 2-lane road, so I had to ‘follow’ until the road split into 4 lanes, and the black Honda took the left lane.  I did the same, because I wanted to make the driver nervous (heck, why not?), but then I switched back to the right lane. I was thinking that there was no point in being there, since both lanes were going at the same speed. Besides, I should act better than that reckless driver.

As we got closer to a main intersection, what do you know?
This person tries again to squeeze in front of me, without any warning or signal!! I got really pissed and honked my horn again, louder and longer this time, and the driver quickly veered back into the left lane.

A little common courtesy on the road please!

How dare he/she!!! Scaring the crap out of me, almost causing a collision with my car and the one in front, all for what? To gain 2 minutes?
The driver stayed left and finally signaled, before switching to the right lane, and two cars in front of me made a right turn at the main intersection.

There…, that’s how you do that!! Signal before switching lanes and don’t cut other drivers off. It may save lives!  (I’d like to think that I reminded this driver of a little common courtesy by honking my horn, LOL)

Sometimes people can be so rude! I have heard that about northerners and no wonder, looking at the car tag I saw that it was registered in  the Imperial State, New York…

Honk your horn if you want to be heard

You know what other effect the experience had on me? It made me feel good, not because I’m an aggressive person, but because this time I remembered to actually use my horn to let my “voice” be heard.

Don’t let people walk all over you, speak up and stand up for yourself! Especially when you’re a woman, an Asian woman at that! Have you ever experienced something similar? Do share in the comments below.
