Finding your passion and purpose
You would think that once you’ve found your passion and purpose they will not change. They probably don’t, if your search was done right.
Living on purpose: to be in sync with your core values in everything you do.
Did I mention in the previous post about my project to ‘take on the world, that I will regularly post my progess? Well, as I was going through the next chapter of the book She Takes on the World, I got super confused trying to describe my passion (again). After I wrote it down, I thought, “Wait, is this really my passion? It’s not the same I had a couple of years ago…” So what happened?
Passion is your drive and inspiration; Love is part of you.
First, I think I was confused about passion and wrote down my future plans for creating a nonprofit organization for women. But that was not right, because without pursuing my passion first and become a successful example (to lead), I cannot start those plans!
Success starts with love and passion for what you do…
Secondly, I was suffering a bit from ‘shiny-object syndrome.’ What does that mean? You see, I am always trying to keep up with new developments in the entrepreneurs’ and technology world. But every time I do that, I get inspired and flooded with new ideas and possibilities. The only problem is: there’s just one of me and not enough time to chase the 1001 ideas running through my head, which results in … doing nothing!
Learn it, love it, act it, do it!
It also didn’t help, that I was not completely honest with myself, because choosing was hard. I have too many passions, so I had to reread the questions below, before I was able to pinpoint the love and passion I have and need to apply to reach my purpose and goals. Funny thing is, it was all right in front of me!
- What would you love to do, even if you didn’t get paid for it?
- What would you do if you didn’t get judged on it?
- Which activities bring you joy? Which bring you stress? (get rid of the latter (6)
- What one thing would you do if you couldn’t fail?
If you can truthfully answer these questions, you will find your passion. Or more than one (like I did), but that’s where you have to continue on to the next step!
Stay tuned to find out more about my journey!
